Help! I'm Struggling with my Sleep

For the past month or so my sleeping pattern has been really bad: I've not been waking up until the afternoon and then as a result I've not been able to get back to sleep until around 3am on a daily basis. I thought getting back to uni would straighten this out, but on the days I'm at uni by the time I get home I'm so exhausted I need to go to sleep again, then wake up in the middle of the night unable to sleep. The days I'm not at uni, I sleep until the afternoon again, wake up feeling exhausted (somehow) and I'm finding it literally impossible to focus on anything.

I've got an assessment deadline on Friday and today on my day off I wanted to get up at a decent time, finish all my work and focus on my blog. But I've woken up less than an hour ago, my head is pounding, my muscles are aching, I'm finding it impossible to focus even just writing this. If I try to get myself up earlier as well I just feel worse.

I've never had a problem with my sleep, I feel really out of control and this bad sleeping habit is really getting in the way of me being able to give my work and blog my full attention.

Has anyone else ever experienced a problem like this before? If so, please share with me how you overcame it..

  1. I have always gone through phases of erratic sleep patters. One time I worked 11pm-7am and was a "day sleeper". That. That, right there jacked my circadian rhythm allllll up. When I would adjust to new schedules it was always a pain to go to sleep at about the time your usually getting ready. I used an array of different methods - I took hot showers, Melatonin, lavender neck pillow, exercised earlier in the day, heck - once or twice I popped a tylenolPM haha! Hope things have gotten better :)

    Found you on Blogaholic :)

    1. Thanks so much! Things are generally much better but some days if I don't have uni for a few days I slip back into the habit. Will try some of those tips if I ever feel like I'm back in that bad pattern again.

      Thank you :) xxx
