Maybelline New York's Dream Matte Mousse Review

Recently I have been eager to try a lot of different foundations, so when I ran out of my last one I bought a few that I have wanted to try for a while. Among that haul was Maybelline New York's Dream Matte Mousse, which I have been dying to try for a while as I've heard so many good things about it. Ironically, I bought it on my way to uni and when I showed my friend what I'd bought and she told me that she wasn't too fond of this foundation! Despite this, I had an open mind when I tried the mouse myself and fortunately I'm a big fan.

Maybelline New York is one of my favourite high street beauty brands; they consistently produce amazing quality make-up for good value for money so I was not surprised that I liked this product, but I was taken aback by how much I actually adore this foundation. The mouse aspect of the foundation is very unique, but it is something that I'm surprised more brands haven't also done. It makes the foundation lightweight to apply but it still gives a good coverage, so you really don't need to use a lot so it lasts ages too. I literally use just over a pea sized amount for my whole face and that provides me with the perfect amount of coverage, and as long as I don't use too much this doesn't leave my skin feeling cakey as it is perfectly light.

Dream Matte Mouse is also one of my favourite foundations for covering blemishes, it leaves my skin looking smooth and even with blemishes virtually undetectable even without concealer - sort of like a matte porcelain texture which in my opinion is absolutely ideal. The to die for texture achieved with such a small amount of foundation used is unbelievably impressive, I will definitely be buying again!

Lots of love,

  1. I've been wondering about trying a mousse foundation for awhile but I'm scared I'll end up caked in it and end up orange.. any suggestion on how to apply for the best look?

    1. I would definitely recommend trying it, I adore it but to avoid it appearing cakey use a little as possible, I only use a pea sized amount and that gives me a perfect coverage. Also make sure you have a primer on underneath!
