Style Diary: Girl Next Door

Jeans- Topshop | Cami- Primark | Sandals- Primark | Earrings- Primark

Before I say anything in this post, I'd just like to apologize for being a bit AWOL on the blogging scene in the past few weeks. As you all know we've been house hunting and we've finally found our flat, signed our tenancy agreement and have an official moving date which is exactly a month today. Since we've known, life feels a bit like limbo; I can't focus on anything except moving day, it's like waiting for Christmas!

During all our trips down to Brighton, my style has had to be practical, comfortable and effortless. The early starts, long drives, rushing from viewing to viewing and sheer stress of it all reduced me to a tense, sweaty mess by the end of each day. One of my favourite outfits over our house hunting process was this casual ensemble. You can't beat a jeans and cami for a relaxed, girl-next-door outfit vibe, but this adorable polka-dot Primark one has a satin feel which gives a hint of formality over say a jersey material one.

In this outfit I've also worked a style trick which I love; same colour, different hues. While flicking through magazines I've often seen this being showcased and I've always been intrigued but never been brave enough to fully try it myself on an occasion. This was a fine opportunity for me to give this a whirl on a casual, dress down outfit. So far, so good, I'll definitely be experimenting with it more in the future incorporating it into my everyday outfits more often.
