What's On My Face? Everyday Version

Everyday Makeup Routine Bobbi Brown MAC Revlon Bare Minerals No7 natural beauty

When I'm browsing Youtube, Pinterest and Bloglovin', the majority of the time I tend to source out dramatic, glamorous evening looks as I absolutely love watching/reading about girls creating these make-up looks and tend to have fun recreating them for myself. However sometimes I enjoy stumbling across a refreshing natural, everyday make-up post or video that I can use for inspiration for my own every day make-up. This post is going to be all about that natural, every day make-up and the products that I put on my face on a day to day basis.

At the moment I don't actually have a primer that I use as the base for my make-up (I'm currently looking for the perfect one, any suggestions are welcome), but I instead use MAC's Strobe Cream which is a skincare item by MAC but can be used within make-up routines too. I have done a full review of here which goes into more detail about this product. After 'priming' my face with Strobe Cream I then move onto apply my eye make-up. I know that some people tend to do their face and then apply their eye make-up but I just find doing it in this order works best for me as it means I can clean up any shadow fallout or eyeliner smudging without ruining my foundation. On a day to day basis I reach for my ELF 100 Piece Eye Shadow Palette which I've actually almost all finished after a year of owning. As a budget make-up brand ELF have really impressed me in this product and I've really loved this palette during the time I've owned it. It's got all the shades you'd need with a variety of matte and shimmery colours to choose from and it literally has every colour you could think of in it. I follow whatever shadow I choose to apply that day with a sweep of Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner. Depending on how I'm feeling will be how thick or what style I apply my eyeliner, but it will always be with this little beauty. I've done a full review of it here and I seriously recommend it for anyone who struggles with applying their eyeliner. For my everyday make-up I have two mascaras that I interchange; Bobbi Browns Smokey Eye Mascara and MAC's False Lash Mascara. I tend to choose the Bobbi Brown mascara when I'm after a softer, natural lash (read my full review here) and the MAC mascara when I want to add a touch of drama to my look. I've actually only got a sample size of the MAC False Lash Mascara but I will almost definitely be purchasing the normal sized version when I'm all done with that one; it's a great little product that does exactly what it says on the tin. Well, mascara tube.

Moving on to the face, I then proceed to conceal under my eyes and all my many blemishes (I love being me) with Illamasqua Skin Base Lift Concealer. If you're after a little more information about this concealer have a read of my full review here, but in summary it's actually a lovely, creamy slightly orange based concealer which provides fantastic coverage. My go-to foundation at the moment is Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Even Finish Foundation, which James bought me for Christmas- lucky gal. I absolutely adore this foundation for an everyday pick as it although it isn't high coverage it provides a good medium coverage and evens out the texture of my skin well. It's also got a very lightweight feel to it and still stays perfect throughout the day, which I love. To bronze my complexion I use Revlon's Highlighting Palette in Bronze which I've only bought quite recently and I've found that it is quite gorgeous for both bronzing and highlighting with the lighter shades. Saying that, I'll probably be switching it up with a new bronzer soon for contouring as it doesn't quite achieve the sculpted cheekbones that my old one did; it's better suited for giving a gorgeous glow and colour but not actually sculpting. My blusher of choice on an everyday basis is my No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Cool Pink which I tend to dust over my cheeks lightly just to add a bit of subtle rosiness to my complexion.

The finishing touches to my everyday make-up is brows (obviously!), for which I use Rimmel London's Eyebrow Pencil. This was the first ever product I ever bought for my eyebrows and I've rebought it so many times, I've lost count. Even though I love this product and I think I'll always have one in my make-up drawer, I'm hoping to venture out and maybe try some new eyebrow products at some point. So although this has been a solid favourite for years, this may be subject to change in the next few months! The final product in this make-up routine is then Bare Mineral's Mineral Veil. This Mineral Veil is actually the illuminating version rather than the original and to be honest with you, I don't notice a lot of difference! They both set just as good as each other and I definitely have noticed my complexion is more radiant, but I can't say whether that is because of this product of because of some other item that I use such as Strobe Cream. Either way, I still love this as a finishing powder as I find it keeps me shine free and my make-up set all day.

So, there we have it! It seems very long in writing, but in practice this everyday make-up routine is very quick and easy which is perfect for just going to work, uni or just running errands; times when you want to look nice, but in a natural, effortless way.
